i am using the script here: http://mirror.poundhost.com/mirror.caosity.org/centos/build/mkdvdiso.sh and it runs without errors.
i found a better script a few months ago: "how to make your own redhat 8.0 dvd from the cd iso images" but it has disappeared from the where i obtained it: http://www.rickertweb.com/~justin/make_redhat_dvd_from_cdrom.html perhaps a web search will reveal other copies.
the script is better because it requires only about 4.5mb disk space more than the sources, instead of another complete copy (> 2gb) of all files.
